We run our own scrap yard in Chuen Lung, Tsuen Wan, with a registered address and our own tow trucks. Since 2011 we have handled more than 10,000 vehicles for owners across Hong Kong, and the price we quote over the phone is the price we pay on site.
Who is Pak Lam?
Pak Lam Car Scrapping (柏林劏車) is a scrap car company in Hong Kong, founded in 2011 and based at Chuen Lung Village, Route Twisk, Tsuen Wan (below the Tai Mo Shan shooting club, opposite Choi Lung Restaurant, 彩龍酒樓). We handle quoting, towing, dismantling and paperwork ourselves with no subcontracting, so one company looks after you from your first WhatsApp message to payment, the vehicle dismantling certificate (commonly called lau che zhi, 劏車紙) and cancellation of the vehicle registration.

There is no fixed price list; each quote depends on the vehicle. WhatsApp us photos of all four sides and the registration document and we usually reply within minutes. Quotes are valid for 7 days if the car matches the information provided.
How we protect you
Scrapping is more than handing over the keys. Until the registration is cancelled, the registered owner remains legally responsible for the vehicle, so the paperwork matters.
1. A proper dismantling certificate
The Transport Department reminds owners to make sure the scrap dealer's Business Registration number appears on the vehicle dismantling certificate. Every certificate we issue shows our company details, and we check the plate number and dismantling date with you at handover.
2. Cancel the registration within 15 days
The TD requires owners to submit or post the documents to a Licensing Office within 15 days of disposing of the vehicle to cancel its registration (form TD184). We can do this for you free of charge.
3. Licence fee refunds and keeping your number
If at least 60 days of the licence remain, part of the fee is refunded: annual licence fee × 0.24% × days remaining. To keep your registration mark, submit TD129; it is held for 12 months and the TD charges HK$560 each time. See our car scrapping FAQ for the document list.
4. Dismantling and recycling
At our yard, reusable parts and metals are sorted for recycling, while engine oil, coolant and batteries are handled separately to reduce environmental impact.
